Welcome to Stephen Central Public School, home of the Tigers!
Stephen Central Public School is a Junior Kindergarten to grade 6 school proudly serving a diverse community stretching from the shores of Lake Huron near Grand Bend inland to Hwy 4 near Exeter, and from the Dashwood Road in the north to Mt. Carmel Drive in the south. Within our catchment area are the villages of Dashwood, Crediton, Shipka, Mount Carmel, Huron Park, and Centralia; all surrounded by the highly productive farmland of Southern Huron County and outstanding recreational and tourist attractions that draw visitors to our area from far and wide.
It is with pleasure and excitement that we welcome all students, families and community members to Stephen Central School. We are extremely excited about the opportunity to continue to build a unique, positive and inclusive school dedicated to success and high standards for all.
We deeply value the many volunteers who work with our students, including: parents, retired education workers, community members and secondary & university students. Our School Council is an integral part of our school team working side by side with our staff in the pursuit of excellence as well as fund-raising to support school programs and fun and enriching activities for our students. The support we receive from our School Council and the surrounding community is second-to-none and is part of what makes Stephen Central a fantastic place to be!
Our dedicated staff includes: Teachers, Designated Early Childhood Educators, Educational Assistants, Technical Resource Assistant, School Office Clerical Staff, Custodians and Principal. Our collective goal is to provide high quality educational experiences for our students, building on student strengths, in a safe and supportive learning environment. In addition, we are continually striving to develop student responsibility, resilience and Stephen Central Tiger pride!
When you enter Stephen Central School, you will notice a positive and welcoming environment where a deep feeling of community and belonging is felt by all. We value our partnerships with the wider community and our families as we collaborate to nurture the individual gifts in each of our students. We encourage each member of our community to act with kindness and generosity as we strive to live lives of integrity and character in our school and community. We are, above all else, a community who cares for one another and supports our families. Stephen Central Public School is a little school with a big heart!
